Emerged from a social project, initiated by Otto und Rosemarie Ionker, today Boneka is an established company in the doll market.

Boneka stands for Quality and Tradition

Up till now Rosemarie Ionker - fashion designer with a master degree also in tailoring - designs unique and distinctive doll fashion. She revived traditional needlework like smocking and embroidery techniques. Staying in this tradition women in Indonesia - who are with us from the very start - manufacture our clothing in Indonesia.

1995 Claudia Ionker, daughter of the family, foundet Boneka Puppenmoden GmbH (Boneka dollfashions) and started managing the distribution. And made Boneka a name that is indispensable in the doll's world. Since more than 20 years we are succesfully positioned in the international doll market and Boneka has envolved into a brand.

2014 Claudia Ionker - married to an Indonesian- desired to stay on Bali for good and to transfer the sales activity in Germany to a successor.

Thus in 2016 Claudia Braun founded her own company Boneka Tradition and since than carries on the distribution in the proven way while Claudia Ionker is managing the production in Indonesia.

The idea didn't come from the orbit: Claudia Braun and the Ionker-family have been friends for a long time. Due to her love of needlecrafting, sewing and dolls Claudia Braun and Rosemarie Ionker inspired each other and Claudia designed a few doll clothing which have been produced at Boneka already.

Innovation by Tradition

We are working together with the most famous doll artists in the world - like Dianna Effner, Helen Kish, Heidi Ott, Käthe Kruse, Heidi Plusczok, Erika Catalani, Wendy Lawton und Rosmarie Müller- just to mention a few of them. And we always  adapted our tailor-made clothing continously to the most popular dolls in the market.

As tradition doesn't mean oldfashioned and old dust traps, but
maintaining what has proved to be good and combining it with new ideas and innovating features. Therefore Boneka has always envolved and established with a high standard in the doll's fashion world.
